Founder of Empoweruth

Here is a short message from the founder of Empoweruth:

"My name is EMma Seel and I am a youth mentor and a performing artist. My background is I have studied Music and Drama and had experience in working in educational settings.  The inspiration for me was the want to guide the youths so that they are more able to make beneficial decisions in making the most productive direction in their life. The purpose behind my project is to enable the youths of today to enhance their knowledge in learning about Human Rights and current issues then with the knowledge and determination they have acquired they can express themselves, through one of the chosen art forms and lead happier lives."

Experiences:

Emma gained a Higher National Diploma in Music from the University of Birmingham. Since then she has been mostly involved in charity work that involved working with secondary school pupils, most notably the “Wings of Hope”. Besides the charity work, Emma has participated in drama a workshop that encourages young people to boost their self – esteem and confidence towards their education.

Emma enjoys travelling especially to Gambia in Africa where she has visited the country three times. Each time she has been, she is inspired by the culture, the music, the dance and passion for life of the locals. Here is her quote based on her visit:

"When I gave a seminar on integrity and honesty the whole audience understood the concepts. They clapped and cheered leaving me with the warmest of feelings. This was one of my most treasured experiences."

Before starting Empoweruth in 2012, Emma was a Human Rights Reform Officer. Within this role, she delivered educational lectures in schools and community centres about the 30 articles of the Human Rights Declaration.

A respected quote Emma strongly believes in is this by L. Ron Hubbard:

"There will be peace on earth when we can all trust each other."
